Young Hotshot joins Team Australia

Dancing her way to the World Cup in Spain

Young local dancer — Adaline Miller 9, a dance prodigy from Hotshots Performance Dance Team, has earned her spot on Team Australia for the prestigious Dance World Cup Finals in July 2025. After an outstanding performance at the national qualifiers, Addie will now represent our country on the global stage, competing alongside 9500 top young dancers from 72 different countries around the world.

The Dance World Cup, often referred to as the "Olympics of Dance," is the largest and most prestigious international dance competition, attracting talented dancers from more than 70 countries. Addie's qualification marks a remarkable achievement for a dancer so young, showcasing her dedication, talent, and hard work in the fields of ballet, jazz, and acrobatic dance.

Addie’s success is also a testament to the exceptional mentorship she has received from her teacher, Renee Burke-Hughes, the artistic director of the Hotshots Performance Dance Team. Renee, who is known for her innovative choreography and expert coaching, was responsible for the choreography of all of Addie’s solos. Her guidance has played a pivotal role in shaping Addie's performances and preparing her for the intense competition ahead.

“I’m so excited to represent Australia at the Dance World Cup Finals,” said Addie. “This is a dream come true, and I can’t wait to perform alongside so many talented dancers from around the world. I’ve been working really hard, and I’m ready to give it my all.”

Renee Burke-Hughes expressed her pride in Addie’s accomplishments, emphasizing the dedication and commitment that Addie has shown throughout her training.

“Addie has worked incredibly hard and has shown such passion for dance,” said Renee. “It’s been an absolute pleasure to choreograph for her, and I’m so proud of everything she has achieved. I have no doubt she will continue to shine at the Finals and beyond.”

The Dance World Cup Finals will take place in 2025, in Burgos, Spain with the world’s best dancers coming together for an unforgettable celebration of talent, creativity, and passion for the art of dance. The event will provide a platform for young performers like Addie to showcase their abilities, while also promoting international friendship and cultural exchange through the universal language of dance.

Addie’s achievement has been met with great excitement from her local dance community, friends, and family, who have watched her grow as a dancer over the years. Her parents, Elizabeth and Aaron Miller both incredibly proud, expressed their admiration for her perseverance and commitment.

“We couldn’t be prouder of Addie,” said Liz. “She has always dreamed big, and to see her working so hard and achieving something as incredible as this is just amazing and a dream come true. We’re excited to see what the future holds for her.” “Now is the challenge to find interested parties in making Addie a brand ambassador, sponsorships or possible grants to try and finance the flights and accomodation involved in this once in a life time experience for our little girl”.

Team Australia’s preparation for the Dance World Cup Finals will begin in earnest over the coming months, with Addie and her team members gearing up for a rigorous training schedule. As she embarks on this next chapter of her dance journey, Addie remains focused on her passion and ready to shine on the world stage for Australia.

All of this will come at an expensive cost to the parents so they will be hoping any individuals or companies that may be interested in sponsoring Addie as a brand ambassador to get to Spain to follow her dreams and join Team Australia, the Millers would be tremendously grateful to speak to.
